چکیده
Alnus glutinosa (L.) Gaertn. and incana Moenx. grow naturally in Lithuania, their ranges overlap. They are considered ecologically economically important species of forest trees. The objective our study was to determine plant bioactive compounds, such as total phenolic (TPC) flavonoid compounds (TFC), the wood alders hybrids order specify opportunity use secondary metabolites (SM) for identification alder hybrids. samples from juvenile mature woods (n = 270) were collected at three different sites natural forests Lithuania. TPC TFC content determined using spectrophotometric methods expressed mg/g fresh mass. Obtained results showed that A. statistically higher compared glutinosa; however, hybrid it intermediate. lowest glutinosa. trees; opposite tendency. In case, continental sites, while costal sites. data allow us assume can be used taxonomic markers. This expanded knowledge physiology contributed correct tree is very conservation resources sustainable value-added products.

Antimicrobial Compounds from Alnus Rubra
The methanol extract of the bark of Ahus rubra showed antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gramnegative bacteria. Diarylheptanoid and its glycoside (oregonin) were identijied as the two constituents responsible for this activity.

Diarylheptanoids from the barks of Alnus viridis ssp. viridis (green alder) and Alnus glutinosa (black alder) were explored for anti-quorum sensing activity. Chemicals with anti-quorum sensing activity have recently been examined for antimicrobial applications. The anti-quorum sensing activity of the selected diarylheptanoids was determined using two biosensors, namely Pseudomonas aeruginosa PA...

accompanying forest species by nitrogen supply. The genus Alnus includes some fast-growing species adapted to various ecological situations (Martin, 1985). Genetic improvement programs are being developed to produce effective clonal varieties able to grow under various ecological conditions. Controlled hybridizations (intraspecific and interspecific) were carried out to obtain improved progenie...
متن کاملNitrogenase Activity and Amounts of Nitrogenase Proteins in a Frankia-Alnus incana Symbiosis Subjected to Darkness.
Effects of prolonged darkness on nitrogenase activity in vivo, nitrogenase activity in vitro, and the amounts of nitrogenase proteins were studied in symbiotic Frankia. Plants of Alnus incana (L.) Moench in symbiosis with a local source of Frankia were grown for 9 to 10 weeks in an 18/6 hour light/darkness cycle. After 12 hours of a light period, the plants were exposed to darkness for up to 40...
متن کاملPredicting the Value of Grey Alder (Alnus incana) Logs Based on External Quality
The quality of grey alder logs (Alnus incana) was studied by sawing sample logs from two different forests in November 1995–February 1996. For grading of grey alder logs and sawn timber the proposed system of Keinänen and Tahvanainen (1995) plus the reject -grade was used. In general, grey alder logs have knots from the base to the top. All types of knots appear, and the length of the knot-free...
